Five years later, in 1993, Ourumov ambushes Bond at a missile silo in Kyrgyzstan but escapes. By 1995, he has allied with the Janus crime syndicate, headed by the supposedly deceased Trevelyan. Ourumov orders the destruction of the Severnaya bunker—where Bond and programmer Natalya Simonova are held captive—using the GoldenEye satellite's electromagnetic pulse. He is later killed by Bond aboard Trevelyan's missile train in Saint Petersburg, after Bond rescues Natalya from Ourumov's custody.
